Victor Piñeiro is a strategist, copywriter and social media guy for digital creative agency Big Spaceship.

He is also the writer and producer of Second Skin, a documentary on virtual worlds which premiered on opening night of SXSW, received rave reviews and unprecedented press, broke audience records at a number of film festivals, was named #4 Documentary of 2008 by Ain’t It Cool News, a Best Movie of the Decade by Film School Rejects, won Best Documentary at ACE Fest in NYC, and was distributed internationally by Liberation Entertainment in Summer ‘09. It had a theatrical run in multiple cities throughout the summer, and was the most watched movie on Hulu for the month of August ’09.

Victor has been a panelist at SXSW, Hot Docs and a number of conferences and colleges for his work using social media to market Second Skin, and has been interviewed by Newsweek, Wired, The Boston Globe, Fox TV, MSNBC and dozens of other media outlets.

He is also the managing editor and head writer for Popten, a year-old pop culture blog that averages 30K monthly uniques, has contributing writers from the New York Times, LA Times and Hollywood Reporter, and was cited in USA Today and the Chicago Tribune.

Victor currently writes and produces short tech documentaries for VBS TV, Vice Magazine’s online channel, visited by over two million people a month.  The short doc he wrote & produced on Richard Garriott launched the Motherboard Channel, sponsored by Dell, MTV and VBS.  He has also written articles for Psychology Today, Vice Magazine and Tor.com.

Victor handled social media strategy, copywriting and PR for government organization The Veterans Corporation as well as carbon offsetting startup Belgrave Trust.

Victor is adapting the novel 6 Sick Hipsters for the screen, his brother Juan Carlos set to direct.
